Paula K. Konikoff, JD, MAI, AI-GRS
Paula Konikoff’s term as president will begin January 1, 2025, and will serve as immediate past president in 2026.
Konikoff has served as vice chair of Region VII, is past chair of the Professional Standards and Guidance Committee, of which she was a member for many years, and was a member of the Body of Knowledge Committee. She received her MAI Designation in 1986 and became active in the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers (an AI predecessor organization) as a member of her chapter’s Admission Committee and as an instructor. She has served on the Standards Committee, the Ethics Committee, the Admissions Appeal Board, and her chapter’s Board of Directors. Additionally, she was involved in the creation of the National Women’s Initiative Committee in 2019 and was its first chair. She is the author of “Appraisers in Arbitration,” a developer of online seminars, a member of the development team for the AI-GRS qualifying education, and a reviewer of textbooks published by the Appraisal Institute and articles submitted to “The Appraisal Journal.”
Paula has been recognized twice with the President’s Award and once with the Y.T. and Louise Lee Lum Award.
Joshua Wood, JD, MAI, AI-GRS
Joshua Wood is a shareholder and Senior Managing Director of Valbridge Property Advisors | Houston. Mr. Wood is a state-certified general appraiser in 10 states. He holds the MAI and AI-GRS designations from the Appraisal Institute and is a State Bar of Arizona member. He is also an arbitrator on the Construction Panel of the American Arbitration Association.
As an instructor for the Appraisal Institute, Mr. Wood teaches litigation and regulatory compliance and serves as a course reviewer. He is also an International Right of Way Association instructor and an AQB Certified USPAP Instructor for the Appraisal Foundation. He has presented lectures for bar associations and national conferences and has been published in law reviews and journals.
Mr. Wood’s professional work focuses on appraisals and litigation consultation. His opinions have been used in various legal disputes, including property tax, condemnation, bankruptcy, construction defect, breach of contract, title defect, environmental contamination, partition, and estate tax.
